About ..

What we have attempted to create in this blog is to make a sense of the artistic-scientific-spriritual-rationalistic-intuitive revolution called 'Movies', ever since the pioneering efforts of Lumiere bros & others.. to the modern wachoski bros, coen bros & others..

At the skin level, it's just one of those nice ways to pass some time in our short lives here. Often though, we find ourselves driven, scared, anguished, tormented, enthralled, entertained, elevated, enlightened by the experience.. or if bad enough, makes one wanna kill oneself. With just access to our senses of sight and sound, it manages to overwhelm the rest. It is one thing to be an audience and another to be a movie-buff.. ( Madras Moviebuffs ) and something else entirely to be a film-maker. We aren't critics though we critic. This contradiction works like this ~ we see through the eyes of a film-maker but feel with the senses of an audience. In a way I guess, movie-buffs are the middle-ground.

I believe in the beauty of a '2D' cinema made in the 70 mm format of the good ol' film reel, with a DTS Dolby surround to boot. Film-makers, of late, seem to prefer either the 35 mm film or the digital version, to the tried and tested wonder. Yes, we can make good films in any format the film-maker chooses but does it fit the story and the mood of a movie? Sadly, it often doesn't. Hence, to parody the populist reduction of the film format, we have raised it in our blog. Also, it just sounds cool. 90mm was a popular anti-aircraft artillery (several levels of metaphors here). If one still is unable to realize or reconcile a movie-review blog to the title, let's just say we needed something unique.
